My very first posting of '06 and the first in abt half a yr. haha... Well... let's just say that life hasn't been that great for myself this new yr but i certainly hope u guys out there have been doing fine. Anyway, as my title suggests, I'm gonna talk less abt myself and share with u guys a movie that i just watched.
"Walk the Line", a 20th Century Fox flim directed by James Mangold, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, brought Country legend Johnny Cash back to life. The show gave us almost all we needed to know about Cash until the point of his marriage with June Carter. For audience my age, I guess it was truly enlightening and entertaining to be introduced to this gifted musician (and his wife) who has already passed away 3 years ago. I really enjoyed watching Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon perform in the show. Trust me, they really can sing! That aside, their performances were incredible. Joaquin Phoenix's Johnny Cash was remarkably absorbing. There seems to be a certain pathos in the character(or the portrayal) that unknowingly makes audience sympathise with him. As for Reese Witherspoon, who has already garnered almost all the major awards for her role, let's just say she almost stole the show. She is splendid! (It's time we take this lady seriously!) Good luck to both for the Oscars!
Oh and.. I really think 'Ring of Fire' is super catchy!
Gonna book in soon... URGH! Can OC please approve all my off!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
